Every stock in the NSE F&O universe scored out of seven on conditions that can be checked the same way for all of them: above VWAP, 5-minute EMA9 above EMA21, above the opening range high, higher high and higher low over the last half hour, volume at least 1.5 times normal for this time of day, beating NIFTY on a beta-adjusted basis, and within half a percent of the day's high.

A score on its own is a description, not an edge, so each one is shown with what actually followed it — measured by replaying every recorded session at half-hourly stamps through the day and following each reading for 30 and 60 minutes. Rates are bucketed by score and by time of day, because a six at 10:00 is not the same object as a six at 14:30.

How to use this page

1. Set the minimum score. Six or seven is a genuine shortlist; five on a trending day will list most of the market and tell you little.
2. Look at the New column. A score that just crossed up is a different proposition from one that has been sitting there since the open, and the two are measured separately.
3. Use Invalidates at and Risk % to size the idea. That level is the higher of today's VWAP and the last half hour's low — lose either and the score is no longer true.
4. Check Sector % before acting. A leader moving with its peers is a different bet from the only name in its sector going anywhere.

Common questions

What makes a stock bullish intraday?

On this page, seven checkable conditions: trading above VWAP, a 5-minute EMA9 above EMA21, above the opening range high, a higher high and higher low over the last 30 minutes, volume at least 1.5 times normal for that time of day, outperforming NIFTY after adjusting for beta, and trading within 0.5% of the day's high.

Does a high intraday score actually mean the stock keeps rising?

Sometimes, and the page publishes how often rather than asserting it. Every recorded session is replayed and each reading followed for 30 and 60 minutes, so each score carries the share that finished higher, the median move, and the median excursion for and against — with the number of sessions it rests on.

Is a score that just rose better than one that has held?

They are measured separately so you can see. Scores that crossed up within the last 15 minutes are flagged as new and bucketed apart from scores already sitting at that level.
